- You don't install COMMANDS. That's the biggest mistake people make when it comes to pattern interrupting. Commands are simply reinforcing the STATES that you are generating and installing. You can interrupt a pattern, like how we teach the handshake interrupt, and give them a COMMAND to follow, "buy this dvd"... Or your could do something far more elegant, that is much more difficult to resist.
- Install "states". When you and another person are doing a single unit of behavior, that you want to interrupt, and install specific state. States change perception. Perception leads to more sales, positive behavior, and more golden moments. Notice if you are in a certain state you are more likely to spend money. Notice when you are in a certain state you are more willing to follow suggestions. Here is the question, what state do you want them in? Interrupt how we do, and install / generate state.
- The PRIMARY secret key. You must go into that state too. Let me repeat that Buck, you MUST go into that state too. No exceptions. You can see on the DVD that Mike goes into deep trance because John goes in that direction FIRST. John simply leads mike there, then leaves him there. Here is the simple formula...
- Keeping it simple. Notice this on the dvd. This is all we are doing. Interrupt the single unit of behavior - that you both are participating in - part way through, and enter into the state that you want to LEAD them into.
- Don't complicate it. Most people aren't sure what state to install. If you don't know what state it is, or if you want to just practice... use a simple state. Like the one that's associated with blushing for example. That's simple. That one - for me - tends to lead to many more sales and helps them be more receptive and open.
- Relax into it. One fella, James couldn't get this. He wanted to stay "up" when taking people down. You can see this in the DVD footage, and how we relax into it. You have to enjoy allowing your state to change into what you want them to get. You enjoying it allows them to enjoy allowing their state to change into your desired state.
- Secret seven is completeness. Learn the COMPLETE obvious version of the handshake interrupt that we present on DVD completely. Play with this until you have mastered it. Then flirt with the more subtle versions you see demonstrated on the DVD and shared on the Bonus disk. Taking your time at the beginning will ensure that you have the best skills later. It's like starting out with lots of extra gold in the bank, it's there when you need it.
- The only caution! Don't take anyone where you don't want to go. In other words, if you are trying to screw with them or hurt them, since you are interrupting your own state as well, you will not be going in a useful direction. I share this information, information that most trainers couldn't get from RB an friends because if you try to hurt others, or do what is not ethical, you will hurt your self in the process. Do only good.
